The pre-comp program is designed to help transition swimmers into the swim team. In pre-comp, students will polish all of their 4 basic strokes, build up endurance to swim longer distances, and learn crucial skills for the swim team such as reading the clock, circle swimming, turns, and dives. Sign-ups occur for 2 week sessions.
Our instructor ratio is 1 instructor per 4 swimmers.
To join the Pre-Comp, swimmers must first register for a tryout online. Then, they will need to show up at the pool anytime between 4 PM-6 PM on weekdays and ask one of the coaches for a tryout
Pre-comp practices last for 1 hour and happen four days per week. Flyers with schedules and prices will be posted around the Rancho Pool facility when our Pre-comp program is in session. Please contact [email protected] for the most up-to-date information.
This is what the tryout will entail:
Swimmers will be evaluated on stroke form/technique rather than speed.
Pre-Comp teachers will frequently push swimmers during Pre-Comp practice to polish their form and build up their endurance. Once swimmers are almost ready, the teachers will begin to have swimmers attempt to do a modified version of the tryout every day. Swimmers will be able to move up when they can perform the following:
Factors such as form and speed will be considered during the tryout to move up to swim team.
