About the Board

The Rancho Board of Directors is a group of five elected representatives from the neighborhood that make decisions on behalf of residents.

The Board makes high-level decisions by majority vote in public meetings. These include setting the direction of the organization, push the organization in a desired direction through strategic goal setting, creating policies that ensure the legal, ethical, and moral operations, providing oversight to ensure that the policies are being followed, and selecting and managing the person responsible for executing Board goals and policies.

All registered voters within the District Boundary are eligible to run for election. Rancho residents will vote on the representatives of their choice.

The time commitment is generally between 2 and 6 hours per month for regular members. This consists of the preparation and attendance to one or two meetings and receiving periodic reports. There can be times where the commitment is much more. The Board Chair in particular will often require up to six hours above what other members are required to do. Board Members are eligible for $100 per meeting to compensate for the time and expense of attendance.

Three seats will be up for election in the November 2024 General Election. Registering to run for office is done through the County Registrar of Voters.

The best way to be involved without being a Board Member is to provide feedback to Board Meetings on items that interest you. Board Meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.

The Regular Board Meetings are held at 6:30 pm every second Thursday of each month in the recreation hall.
